The Challenge
A marine research team needed custom reef modules that could mimic natural coral structures to attract fish and promote ecosystem recovery. Traditional concrete moulds were too expensive for the prototype phase, and the complex organic geometry couldn't be achieved with conventional manufacturing.
Our Solution
We engineered custom reef modules using 3D printing to create complex internal lattice structures that mimic natural coral. The design was optimised for water flow, fish shelter, and surface area for coral attachment. Multiple iterations were produced rapidly to test different geometric approaches before selecting the final design for deployment.

Outcome
Reef modules successfully deployed. The 3D printed approach reduced prototyping costs by over 80% compared to traditional mould-based manufacturing.
